I like both cars, who cares why someone bought one car and not the other. I believe the 350z takes much better to modifications but in my experiences the s2k is faster out of the box.

Although I would want to agree that the Z and the S are in different categories, unfortunately, when a car purchaser is in the market for a sporty car, they will probably look at both cars, and possibly the RX-8 and others. They are pretty closely matched both in speed and cost. That is why they are close when it comes to rivalry. I looked at all three of these cars before I bought my S. Is one faster than the other? Who cares? Why is this such a big deal to people. After driving both, i have to say, it is a driver's race.

com'on ,yellafeva, don't insult your car like that. The only european car we rival in this class is the lotus elise. Miata? hell no.
I like both the s and the z, which is better? go ask colin chapman.
proof: I passed a z at coner 3 at gingerman, the s was just way faster, by corner 7, I don't know how far ahead I was in front of the z, and then got blackflaged, Hell that was cool
but yet again, if you have michael schumacher driver a miata, and me driving the s, then I am the one getting smoked

Hey, don't knock the Miatas. They are very cool little sports roadsters. And they handle very nicely as well. The Mazdaspeed Miata is still considerably slower than the S, but the S is slower than the Elise. Anyway, all I was saying is that all of these three cars are light-weight sports roadsters that handle very nicely. The Z coupe, however, is not in that category. Even the Z roadster is not in that category because it weighs approx. 3500 lbs, and you can feel that weight on the track.
