Don't most (or all) dragstrips frown on people spinning their wheels a lot on launch? They want the wheel spinning to be done on the burn-out pad. The start line track surface has been prepped and is reconditioned occasionally. What's a good launch technique for the strip that doesn't get the track owners pissed?

Yeah, I went to a nearby dragstrip yesterday. Chatted with the guy in the booth handing out timeslips for a while and he fed me this information.

Maybe its just the track here, but I rarely see anyone get much wheelspin at all off the line and that goes for the stock Mustangs all the way up to the rail dragsters. All I see is some quick chirps at the launch and maybe again in second and third. Of course, this is the deep South and there's very few cars at the strip that aren't American muscle cars. They've got plenty of low rpm torque. The track workers do recondition the first 300 ft of the track every two hours or so. I hope it is as you say, Shizon. Maybe next time I go I should just let 'er rip and wait for someone to say something to me. Thanks.

I did a drop getting on to the 110 expressway last night here in CA right after I left the dodgers game and had it up to about 7000. High tire spin and real quick up to 60 after it finally caught some rubber, but my @$$ was all over the place at first. GOOD TIMES THOUGH!!! NO BOG EITHER. funny thing is that at that high of RPM i was squeeling the tires they were almost scratching? any similar experiences?
