I have it on good authority that the 97 Cobra isn't exactly a torque machine either. 250-260 rwtq in a 3400+ lb car is NOT going to get him up and moving...especially when you consider that you don't see 250-260 rwtq unltil approx. 5250 rpms.

You should be able to take him, but I don't think you will smoke him either. Let us know when you run him.

I would have my money on the Cobra, no offence.

If he listens to what I said and runs him from 30 mph he will win. Anything higher then that and the S is gonna be in trouble if its not sitting above 6K. Remember the Cobra will not run out of steam up top like a GT.

So when is this race going down? I can only comment on something that hasn't happened so many times. Maybe I hsould just rip off all my bolt on's and drive down to SC and race him. We might get results faster that way.

WHAT!!! From a stop the s2 will pull harder then from a roll! At least from my personal experience.

Yeah, I know what it is like to run up to six grand in a GT against a well-driven S2000. Given more revs and air, I see the Cobra walking away briskly. I guess if I was gonna tell you how to win, I'd say run him from 60 or so

What are the stock rear gears in a Cobra? Are they diferent year to year?

I ran a 97 cobra today from 0-90 and had a couple car lengths on him. However, it was cold so he was slipping pretty bad from the launch. I only launched at a little under 5k too.
His mods:
H Pipe
Jet Chip
Underdrive Pulleys
K&N
Eibach springs
koni struts

My car is pretty much stock outside a CAI.
