Ok- The 96-01 Cobra has 327's in the rear. A gear swap to 430's would be the best choice for the Cobra if you can get the power to the ground.

As for running a Cobra in the cold..... at any speed under 40 in 1st or 2nd w/ just a cold air, x-pipe, cat back, and pullies ( $800 in mods) I would blow my tires away.

folex187: I think that Cobra shoulda ripped you a new one- it should be around 102-103 mph in the 1/4. Nice kill.

Purple_sky - If they go from a stop I think the guy with the S will most likely win cause the kid with the Cobra will not have enough time behind the wheel of it in order to know how to launch it properly- so he will be playing catch up.

I was thinking that it would have been a pretty close race but I guess I just got the better launch and he couldn't catch up. I'll have to run him again when it's warmer and I'll post what happens. I'll even see if I can get someone to video tape it.

O and I was corrected, the one I ran was a 96 but I don't think that could make much of a difference.

97 v. 97
Its 2-3 rwhp difference becasue of the computer tune...at the very most.

- If you can launch your S then that kid with the 96 is gonna have his hands full. It amazing what a good/proper launch does for the S.

JUST DO IT FROM A ROLL! It eliminates (mostly anyway) driver's fault at launching. There are a lot of sucky, inexperienced drivers who are driving S2000. The car is not the easiest to drive to begin with, add that to a sucky driver, game's over. Look in the other thread, a sucky, inexperienced driver, who just learned how to driver manual, lost to a car that is at least 3 seconds slower in the 1/4mi.

Just do it from a roll or learn to launch and do it from a launch.

Nice kill. That surprised me. Good to know where the S2K stands against the N/A cobras.
