OK, I guess my question then is:

Do ALL the manuals come with those gears standard?

Yes, those are the only gears that you can get in them.

Shizon,
Your car isn't stock is it? I would run you either way. I know my car isn't very fast (my bike does alright though! ), as it doesn't really feel that fast, but I have not had anyone beat it yet. And I am NOT saying that it can't be beat, I'm just saying that I have not had the opprotunity to get spanked! Let me know if you ever have it down near Cinci and we can tape another s2000 spanking! I just like to play... I'm also going to tape my s2000 vs my R1 (with a headstart) here soon. That should be fun!

Zoran -

Actually, you can have the auto's delivered with the 2.73 or the 3.15 gearsets right from the factory. The 3.42 gear set is what shizon was referring to and they do indeed come as the only option in the 6spd cars.

So if you owned a auto C5 with the 2.73 and wanted a little more gear but didn't want to lose too much top end you would take the car to the dealership and ask them to install the 3.15 gearset.

I think there's just alot of people out there with vettes that will run high 13s at the track, and can even manage f-ucking up with an auto tranny. I'm yet to race a vette with my s2000, but I did encounter a couple with my previous car and the races were always MUCH closer than I thought they should have been. I still know what the vette can do, and am not trying to fire up any debate again here. I just think there's ALOT of vette owners out their period, and how many of them can really react and get full acceleration is probably not a high percentage.

I really doubt an S2000 stands a chance against any C5 auto or manual @ 100 mph! Thats playing to his strength.

I would tend to disagree because with C5 auto only gives him 3rd and 4th when i can throw down into 4th at 100mph, which is pretty strong in an S2000 and i can use 5th and 6th. I wasn't saying I could beat one I was just wondering if anyone else had ran one, because when i did the vette wasn't as strong as I thought it would be on me.

Only auto C5 numbers i've seen were 5.3 to 60, 13.6 in the 1/4, and 165mph top speed.

those are pretty low numbers I think...

I'd say 0-60 in 5.0, 1/4 in 13.2, top speed (personally) 176mph, but I've heard of guys hitting 180. I ran out of road, but the speedo is probably off. I'd say 175 or so.
