So I come back from my boys place and see this sti pulling out also. So I've never had a chance to really race someone w/ a STi that knew how to drive. We kinda just speed through traffic tryin to get a opening til the light ahead turns red. I knew I was goin to get my ass handed to me b/c it's a big advantage for him. But what the hell. So I rev it around 6k rpm and get a okay launch n he shoots out the hole. He has about one car length infront of me shifted to second n I start closing in just a lil so my front bumper is at he's rear bumper. Shifted in third n stayed the same till the end of third gear. I slow down b/c the light wass turnin red and he just guns right through it.

Later on my boy said it looked lowered n might of heard an intake. I didn't really know if it was stock or not.

I have spugen ti single exhaust, aem cai, test pipe n my top was up.


Anyone else have the same experience. I think I would of had him if we kept on going though. But who knows

 

Nicee! I've bumped into a few STI's on the street, but never ran any of them out the hole like you did...Nice results man! All my encounters have come via roll racing, and when my S had only AEM CAI I pulled on a brand new (i.e. temp. tag) STI from 45 - 110MPH...I won by maybe a car length, and he had a passenger to me being solo..But never had a chance to race him out the hole like you did. He must've not launched real hard...cause those bad boys take off like crazy off the line! I seen one at the drag track (don't know if he had any mod's, I just saw his time slip) but he had a 1.6 60ft! I was like wow!

 

I raced this guy w/ a black STi on the highway....I would kill him everytime like two/three car lengths but I don't think he knew how to drive so I don't call that a kill for STi's just b/c of one guy. I know in the beginning I just remember seeing him get a nasty launch. N for some reason or another I was right behind him.

My lil bro raced an 04/05 sti recently in his ap2, he has aem intake, and custom dual exhaust using stock piping, basicly he cut off from y pipe and redid piping with magnaflow mufflers

He said sti might of had intake and had exhaust. Raced from about 70, he said he was in vtec in 4th gear i believe, said the sti just left him behind. My bro had a passenger.

 

didnt know sti were that slow on a roll!?!? well maybe it's the driver.

 

For the record, and intake on an sti, is useless unless tuned for it.
