Default ap1 vs. 93-95 rx7

this could be a false kill so take it with a grain of salt- rolling on the main drag when a green rx7 twin turbo with rims and an exhaust starts pacing me and blipping his throttle. well were clear for about 2 blocks ahead of us so i drop into third- then to second- right into 7800. i instantly jump like half car ( he probably didnt know it was go time) then i continue to pull on him for about 5 secs before we both shut down (traffic). his front bumber was at my rear tire (when i said pulling not by anything to brag about.) about half a block later he either gave a "i wasnt racing smirk" or "i got beat by a honda" look. Neither me nor my wife could tell- and i am pretty sure a rx 7 would get me so i will assume a. his rx-7 was in bad shape - it looked nice be we all know about those motors b. he wasnt all the way into it or c. he doesnt count it a loss if we slow down for traffic even though i was pulling. Sorry for the long story!

Hmmm the 7 can't lose!! lol sorry old joke most people wouldn't get...

But anyway I use to drive one of these suckers daily and it might have had something wrong with the motor from the sound of it. I know that I got so use to problems that I started to not even care if the engine only had one thing wrong with it....unless it was a big one.

Sounds right to me me if the only mod he had was an exhaust.. I once ran an rx-7 tt w/ really minor mods when i only had an intake.. i started at 6000 in 2nd and slowly pulled away..

If the rx-7 is stock... down low it's pretty even (0-80). After that though, say good-bye.. the rx-7 will walk away. My friend has one and we do friendly runs all the time. Now he is modified and puts down 280 to the wheels, so I have no chance =(.

a stock rx7 running the proper stock 10-8-10 boost pattern (which many aren't) are very close with the advantage to the rx7 as speeds climb. i've owned both and that is just my experience..... but damn did that thing suck thousands out of me in mods and repairs....

Even in good condition, stock RX7 is not much faster than S2000. It too was a high 13-sec car with trap of about 100mph. Oh yeah, they came with plenty of automatics too, which should be slower than manual.

Stock for stock should be a very close race. Just be weiry about the modded ones, simple bolt-ons will gain good numbers on the FD.
