Good kill...I've had both cars as well. Running well, my RX-7 was notably faster than the s2000 because it was modified slightly with a SMIC, intake, and exhaust. They are pretty similar stockwise, but the RX-7s have more torque so it might feel faster. As much as I like the s2000, I love the RX-7 much more. The car's aesthetic appeal makes me drool. The feel and drive of one is also very memorable. You ran into a "green" RX-7....Montego Blue....only on touring or pep models which means it could have been automatic as the r1s and r2s were all manual. Should be right since the autos run about 14.5 stock

i owned a FD rx7 before the s2k.. and with simple mods.. intake, downpipe, midpipe, exhaust and Apexi commander. that thing pulled about 300+ whp... and it was fast.. and i think the car is lighter than the s2k.. about 2700-2800lbs.. i love both the s2k and the FD.. but my heart will always go to the FD, i do plan on buying another one. but by the time im ready to buy another those bad boys will be hard to find..

Having owned an rx-7, i could go either way on this one. The 7 probably wasn't running well, as they never do. and unless the motor is newish, those things loose power as the seals go.
i ran one of my buddies with a R1 exhaust, intake and dp. i pulled nicely on him. though he claims his car wasn't running right. at the time i had intake and exhaust.
my old room mate has a large street port, intake, Dp, exhaust, Power FC and a few small things. he would pull all day and night on me... until my gears. acctually when we race, i pull slightly on him... SLIGHTLY... this is of course a rolling start from 10mph - 75mph. i'm sure after that He'd eat me up.

We need to run Will. I picked up a 93 R1 with downpipe, exhaust, M2 chip and 12psi on stock twins. Car puts down 280 rwhp. Should be a good race.

I'm going to post that the 7-always loses.

If the FD was running a perfect 10-8-10 boost pattern, the race should have been closer or the FD could have won, assuming that the FD driver was indeed racing. Sounds like the FD may have had some problems.

I'm going to have to give you the benefit of the doubt and say....Good Kill!

I think it's rear bias weight distribution gives it an advantage over the S2k, because it can exit a corner faster.
i thought both cars have nearly 50/50 weight distributions.
