I had an encounter with a current generation Civic Si on the way home today. I haven't had a chance to run one yet so I decided to see how he would fair against my AP1.

We we're on a 3 lane road with absolutely no traffic and about 4 miles of open, straight road. He egged me on at first, which was fine cause I was down to run. We hit a redlight and he asked for a 2nd gear roll. I agreed and followed suit. I'm in 2nd about 5500RPM and he does the 3 honks. I let him have the jump. He takes off. I do as well. I hit 9k in 2nd and don't pull....I hit 3rd gear and literally pull a car on him at the end of 3rd, 4th gear I pull another car and still walking away, 5th gear pulled another car or so and shut down at the top of 5th with a good 3-4 car lead. I slowed down to give the thumbs up and we both go our merry way.

I get to the next light and a nissan pulls up hot behind me. I couldn't tell what it was but my initial guess was a SE-R. It was the last generation model with the 4 doors. Anyways, light turns green and I make a uturn and just shift casually to 2nd and hold the gear...he's behind me and just punches it. I said the hell with it and mash the throttle as well. Well I hate to bore you with every gear and the outcome so lets just say I put about 7-8 cars at the middle of 5th.

PS. I had 3 bars of gas so I know the SE-R would be a waste of time so I just felt jazzy and the adrenaline took over.

also, what mph does your car top out at in 4th ? (with the 4.77's, ap1 im assuming.)

 

Good kills, Mark. But you need some real competition, not some econobox races. The only S-er spec V nissan I've come across was on the 8E and he was boosted. He kept egging me on and letting off so I can hear his BOV loud and clear.

 

 

you should have smashed that si alot harder then you did... i mean i have an intake and skunk2 megapower exhaust and pulled at least 3 1/2 cars from a 1st gear roll till the end of 2nd

Them FG2s are mean. And their CTSC kit is quiet as all hell. Never know whats out there.
