Default AP1 vs Mazdaspeed 6

I'm driving along minding my business while this guy in the speed 6 gives me a stare and does a ricer fly-by. I play along and finally we reach a light. I ask him if he wants to go from a dig he says he wants a 20 roll. Light turn green, we line up at 20, honks follow and on the third I stab it. Pulled a car by end of 1st, one more by end of 2nd, and about 3 card total when I shut down at the end of 4th.

He pulls up gives me the thumbs up and says he use to have an ap2.. Cool dude minus the ricer fly by.

Good kill and sounds about right. When my Mazdaspeed6 had Intake/Test Pipe it was a few ticks faster than the S2000s I've owned.

The car, however, was a piece of shit. Engine blew at 12k miles and Mazda wouldn't warranty it due to my "heavy modifications". I will never buy another Mazda! Lots of stock/lightly modded Speed6s have thrown rods. Happy with my 2nd S2000 though.

i hate to put it this way but a mazda engine isn't a honda engine
what i mean is you can take a factory d16z6, an "economy" engine, boost it to 8-10 psi, you can dog it and it'll last 100,000 miles, while you take a mazda factroy performance engine modd it a little and crank the boost up on it and you're lucky if you get 10,000 miles out of it

thats why i'm not touching my MS protege

Good kill... the above statements are true Mazdaspeeds are good cars in stock form, but the tend to not do so when the boost is wicked up, without upgrading the internals.
