So I was on a little cruise tonight, and a bright yellow E36 m3 comes out of a neighborhood from behind and kinda tailgates me.

So we come up on a light and he pulls beside me. I can tell he wants to run......

It was 2AM and roads were empty.... so I figured why not.

Light goes green and I jump out of the hole on him by about a car. Then walk him about another 1/2 car before I shut it down.

Another light comes up and the same result!

We had another race going outside the city where there is nothing but straight road.

going about 80 km/hr we both drop it and off we go. I jump on him by 1/2 a car, then the road starts going uphill a bit...... He reels me in and passes me by about 1/2 a car by the time we hit 190 km/hr. Too fast for me, but the race was so close I had to keep going. LOL


So I get home 20 minutes ago and tell my roomate about it. He tells me he used to live in the same condo complex (i told him what neighborhood the M3 came out of) and apparently he has a 1997 M3 w/intake, exhaust, chip, and some drivetrain mods, and coilovers.

So I'm happy that my CAI Ap1 did so well! 2 for 3 ain't bad!

Can't wait to get the blower now.

Nice kill. Someone just posted that his newly-acquired S felt a lot slower than his old e36M3. Couldn't be!

 

Lack of torque = "feels" slower

 

Yea I'm sure it feels slower. Hell my S2000 feels slower than my GF's 00' celica gts.....

You may have a point there. When I bought my '95 Integra GS-R, it felt slower than my '88 BMW 325is. The Integra was lighter and 170hp while the Bimmer was heavier and 168hp. There was more "pull" from the Bimmer but I know the Integra IS slightly faster.
