it's believeable the Evo most likely wasn't even broken in yet...my IX took till after 2000 miles to *feel* truly in its element

the IX 5 and 6 speed share *almost* the same first 4 gears...it's after 110mph the MR should pull on the 5spd due to an extra gear, assuming stock gear ratio/final drives etc

i barley pull on my freinds evo mr and im SCed running 8-9 lbs of boost. I eventually pull on hit top of 3rd and so on.. bud dead even. If he only pulled on you 1 car off the start and then you maintained it? Im wondering where the other 100 hps came from to even allow you to hang in there?

evo9 mr + shitty driver < s2k + good driver.
I never see compliments. Too many times ONLY about what's SUPPOSED to happen.

good kill. I hope you run into him again to spank him once more.
.. but don't get caught!

A stock EVO 9 will destroy a stock S2k, from a 10 mph roll, you would have been no where near vtec, and you have a 00 with a tad less power,

that guy should have ate you alive...... sorry. nice kill on the driver.

a stock 9 will not DESTROY a stock s2k...granted it should beat it by about 2 cars...but from a 3rd gear roll from my experience the s2k should win.

My roomate has a 9, i Have an s2k and an evo 8...
He now has a flash and will definetly walk my s2k...he ran a 12.5 with a boost controller, flash, and exhaust.

stock he ran a 13.3 and i ran a 13.98 in my s2k...so from a roll it wouldnt be bad.

I would kill my 8 in the s2k from a roll as well. the 9 is definetly faster.

yea i was just about to say that his story is believable bc i beat an Evo 8 pretty handily in my S2K. my S is much more modded than the OP's, but nonetheless, i walked an 8 easily. BUT you said the 9's are def faster so i guess me walking an 8 has nothing to do with this.

I test drove the Evo 9 SE yesterday. Then drove the Evo 9 MR right afterwards...The car has some balls, no doubt...But did not feel llike it was much faster then a stock s2000, honestly. Maybe a little down low, but you also have to realize the Evo's making it's power from 3500-almost redline, where as the S2K has to be in it's powerband. It's much easier to drive the Evo. Or should I say race it with that broad powerband. But still even on the highway, it felt like it lost it's left nut once I shifted into 4th gear and stayed on it. I looked at the salesman and asked him if he honestly expected me to pay $38,400 for the MR before tax, tag, and title. and he said why not? Yeah...Maybe if they were going for 28K i'd have a bit more of a serious consideration...But no way did that car ride like a $40,000 car. Nice, but over priced IMO.

you can get an Evo RS for 25,999, a GSR for 27,999 and an MR for like 32,500 or so.
