So a close friend of mine has been bothering me since I sold my lightly modded 91 MR2 Turbo. His car basically has an exhaust and a boost controller (13 psi) nothing else really done. My AP2 is completely stock, just finished breaking her in, we were hanging out like any other night. So as the night goes by he kept sneaking in comments about my car being slow... I let it slide cause he drank a little and didn't want anything to happen to him. Unfortunately as I was leaving his house he decided to follow me, right next to my door for like 1/2 a mile lol. So at the next light I give in. Rev to 6k (cause I don't know any better and have never launched an S2000 in my life) dropped the clutch at green and instantly pulled about a car on him. Mind you I barely got grip and was pretty much just sliding around (rained few hours ago, road was musky) that went on for maybe about a second (the sliding) so anyway, I shift to second, he gets further behind, 3rd I was still pulling on him but had to shut down before 4th because of a long bend that we were approaching. All in all, my friend cought up just to give me thumbs up and turn around to head home First kill in the AP2, woo!

So somebody ask me if I regret selling my MR2

 

nice run! my coworker has a modded 93 hardtop and i always wonder how i'd do if i ran him.

 

good kill - got any pics/videos/specs on your MR2? i considered buying one, but i believe im gonna go for the older sibling, the supra.

I don't have as many picture of the car as I thought I did. My car only had MBC@15psi, gutted cats, trd springs, and thats pretty much it. They just feel much faster cause of all the torque down low. Horrible top end stock though.

I'll try to get a video next time, I'm sure its not the last time I race him lol.
