so im stopped at a stoplight, and i see a srt-4 turn left heading the same direction as i am.. as soon as my light turns green i catch up to him and give him a thumbs up (i usually dont like srt-4's but this one was very clean).. so i notice his license plate says "viper dna" so i kinda assumed he wasnt stock.. well we wait for traffic to clear and im in 2nd doing somwhere around 45 (i was in vtec) give the three honks and were off, i hung with him for approximately 3miliseconds lol and he was off. well we keep on going at it on and off for about 10mins of highway driving, and i finally tell him to follow me to the next gas station. well we get there and start talking and i find out he ran low 12's on street tires (before gt40 upgrade) and now he has a gt40 turbo, boost set at 16psi, exhaust, stage 4 clutch, the whole nine yards... it was cold out so we made it kinda short, said we'd see eachother at import wars (a local show/drag day we have around here about once a month) ... he was a pretty cool guy, i was expecting alot of cockiness but he kept on complimenting my stock car.

and on another note; i never have anyone really rev'n on me or anything and ive had my car for about a year and only had about 3 actual races with it.. i dunno how you guys always get people to give you a run?!?!?

/\/\/\/\/\ I agree I may not like'em too much, but still have to give them some respect. On the other hand in about 2-3 years see how many of these are lined up and repair shops because they have completely destroyed there engin

 

I know many people here hate on the srt4 but in all honesty i kinda like them. But they're many of people that say... "its still a neon." Lets be honest guys.. it may be a neon but it's not exactly "jus" a neon. My girl robin had a neon back in the day (before the srt4 came out) and i will say it was lackin in the reliablity department and i'm not sure if things have changed since then but i still give the car(srt4) the respect it deserves. Dodge jus came up w/ the cheapest way to finish the quarter mile in the shortest amount of time... so props!

 

 

the neon is a good little car if you get over the fact that its a neon and looks like a skittle. dodge has set the car up to be modded into infinity, and the mods are relatively cheap. i wouldnt worry too much about it, sounds like he is in the top 1 percentile of well drive stock turbo'd srt4's.

i would equate the srt-4 (aka neon turbo) with the ford escort cosworth. nobody denies they are fast but it's simply an ugly car that is purpose-built to go fast in a straight line. personally i'd rather have a mustang if that's what i was after.
