Most insurance companies don't rely on KBB or NADA for their values. They actually use a third party company to run a real time survey based on the home zip code to see what the vehicle is being sold for, in both the Autotrader and dealership. In the many instances that I've seen, the insurance company also reimbursed sales tax to the insured/claimant.
