A little off topic but do you happen to know a Nick?
Red hair, has a beard, senior?
He said one of his friends crashed his S into a tree.
I live in the 904 too.

Another testament to the safety of the car.

The seats are typically designed to "break" in severe crashes.

good luck parting out what's left of the s2k. i'm sure you could sell the rims, tails, headlights (assuming no damage), seats, softtop to help offset the costs...

Yeah, I know Nick. I grew up a few houses down the street from him.
Small world.

Insurance wrote me a check for 17,000 so I dont get any part of the car back.
Paid off what I still owed on it and used the remaining 6K as a down payment on the 05 RL I just bought.
I figured if I bought another sports car I would be too tempted to race it like I did my S.
Anyways, the RL is awesome; completely diff from the S but still cool.

Wow, only $17000? Thats practically obsurd (given the mileage)..

The values of our cars has decreased beyond belief

Say what?

Seats & belts are not designed to break in a crash. They are designed to absorb the stresses involved. If they break, you are going to hit the dash at 'X' amount of force.

From an S to a 2G RL? That's a big change. The temptation to mod and race one of those is far less compared to the S2k. Sorry to hear about your S.

If you haven't already, you may want to head to Acurazine's 2G RL section. (shameless plug )
