Awesome races w/ a 5.0

on the way home tonight.. crusing along this open road thats usually pretty clear of cops.. 65mph limit so i usually practice take offs down this road.. clutch is fried so i was just doing off idles..
this 5.0 comes up behind me.. i take off from the light.. he's staying w/ me.. we hit another light.. line up.. and i do a off idle launch.. somehow.. dead even.. by around 100 he's pulled a car.
hit the next light.. i ask if he's ran it at the track.. said he pulled a 13.9.. he said your cars stock right.. said yep stock 4banger. said he saw me before and i wouldn't race.. it was in baytown.. to many cops.. but i remembered cause the 5.0 was hopping his car like mad trying to get me to race.
anyway from that light.. i grinded second.. lost again
3rd light.. dead even.. took it to around 110.. he had a lil over a car.. but damn close the whole way the 5.0 didn't start pulling till around 90.. i thought it would be the other way.. catching up in top end.. that was one of the best races i've had so far.
if i would of done a launch on either of those races i would of won.
i'm just wondering how it was so close.. if that 5.0 runs 13.9's.. off idles w/ a good driver in a s2k.. are suppose to only get what a 14.6?
maybe that was on slicks or something.. i'm suprised it was that close w/ out launchs.

Kirk, you went home too early last night. Brittmore was busy. We saw quite a few races. This one Firebird was stomping people. He beat a Viper twice. Second time he even set him out a car length. We also saw a modded Taurus SHO (not the one we saw before) that beat a 60's/70's model Mustang.
