Default Beat a Miata ...

... that was turbocharged!

Last week I left the office for lunch and saw a Miata ahead of me. When we came up to a stop sign, he pulled into the right lane, I had a car in front of me in the left lane. He left the stop sign with the car in front of me and I noticed he was moving pretty quickly and then he chirped second. My turn to go, so I took off in pursuit, switched to his lane, passed the person in front of me, and moved back into the left lane. We were both at WOT at this point and I passed him just as I shifted into third.

As we stopped at the next stop sign, I said to him "Well, that's obviously not stock, what's in it?" He replied, "It's turbocharged! How about yours?". "Just stock" I replied!

(Well, not exactly, air filter and exhaust system, but everyone knows that hardly gets you anything!)

Yup, I raced one of these as well. Posted it here a while back. They're pretty fast, but in third, I was walking his ass pretty hard.

Supercharged or TURBOCHARGED? There's a big, big difference.

This is a cool story, I wish you could have asked how much boost the guy was running...that is like the icing on the cake.

I'm running 14 psi on mine (Miata).
