Default Best Run since...

So there I am... the light is red, my lane is short... and the guy next to me looks like he's got his "I'm a prick" hat on...!

On my way from a client's place, south of my own home, I was heading North on Telegraph. I wasn't necessarily feeling rushed, but as I made the wide left turn onto Schoolcraft Rd (the service drive for I96)... I was incedently forced into the far right lane (its a one-way) as I pulled up to the red light.
...I thought "well this isn't so bad... at least I have nothing in front of me but open road... I'll just give it a little gas... cut over a couple lanes... and pop on the highway like I own it!"...

.......but that's when captain cock started nudging me... He must have noticed me eye-balling the wide open on ramp! And, like a rookie runnin' the quarter against the top dog... I got anxious, lunged to early and nearly got DQ'd! I wasn't anticipating this challenge, and choked under the unexpected pressure!! !!Dam!! ...so humilaiting! ...but this was obviously a dead give away... from that point... he knew it was on!

So I see the opposing light turn red... I count down...

3...

2...

1...

Ours goes green... AND WE'RE OFF!!

Both of us get a perfect Launch! No tire slippage... just full torque and instantly into the high Rpm's! But his was damn sweet too... because we were neck to neck... to 30... to 40.... uh oooooohhhh.... my lanes cutting off!! ...45... I start pullin on him!!... only about another 100 yards... 55! ....HELL YA!! I'M WALKIN' HIM BABY!! ....60mph.... cut over! and make the ramp just in time!!

Best run I've had since I first saw clean pavement this summer!

The dude in the Ford Winstar was nice enough to recognize a good run, and gave me the thumbs up...

.....he'll know better than to with this Explorer Sport again!!

God, I'm so pathetic... 3 1/2 more months till I can run the S again

Joeking, you put your S away already?

I've had mine in "semi" storage for 1 month now. It's just not as fun without the top down.

One of the days we will have to meet up. I am in Mt. Clemens.

for sure... with the Detroit support... those would be some cheap rounds!!

....you guys are all signed up for the mega meet, right!? (rounds will be on Honda!)

as for the storage, yeah... when I traded in my Jimmy and got the Explorer, it was just easier to switch the insurance outright for now... (saved me from bringing any cash to the table, for a new policy)...

but as always... good things come to those who wait... a couple extra months!

Here you go... Sorry, I forgot that an AZ member protested our name, and made us change it to the Fresh Water Tour 2004. (I noted the Megameet above)

Myself and Saab 9-3 should have the final plans posted in the next week. We just have to peg down a time to conference call with Cthree. (he is pulling in complete Honda America sponsorship).

Yes, I added my name when I saw it. Should be fun.

However, we should do something local and informal one of these days... I'm still a little new to the SE Michigan area, it'd be cool to get together a few locals. (I know they're out there... I saw a yellow S in Novi yesterday night!)
