I was exiting on to the highway on my way home and two cars in front of me is a red C4 vette. I have no idea what year all I know is it was the C4 body style and it had chrome rims. It caught my eye because it was in remarkably good condition and looked brand new. Anyways he flies once he gets off the exit ramp and I just hang back driving normal. He slowed down as he approached some traffic and I slowly caught up and passed him in the left lane. As I go by him I see him and someone in the passenger seat staring over and I get about 2 cars in front of him and then get over in his lane to get out of the fast lane. As I'm cruising along I hear a loud motor and he flies past me and then hits his breaks and we are still in traffic so I'm hesitating on whether I want to race or not. I decide to be somewhat responsible and say no way until traffic clears. So after about 1-2 miles of slowing down then blowing past me I get in the far left lane and increase speed because the traffic was clear ahead. He's in front of me and is punching it then slowing down and finally moves over to the right lane to get side by side. I downshift from 6th-5th-4th-then to 3rd and I'm driving side by side waiting for him to go. For some reason he slows down too much and falls behind about a car length so I'm about to put it back in 6th and just forget about it when I hear him punch it. I punch it too right as his nose is at my rear and I steadily pull ahead about 1/2 of a car length. I get a perfect 3 blink shift into 4th and, to my suprise maintain my pull until I am almost a car length ahead. We both shut it down and I moved over and exited. I think it was a pretty good run being that I'm pretty much stock (Just a Comptech CAI). I was alone and had about 2 bars of gas. As far as I know he was stock although his motor did seem very loud but I think all vettes are. Sorry this was so long I like to tell the whole story.
Tell us the speeds and stuff.
I remember once I was on the freeway and a C4 convertible was in front of me. He punched it, as I downshifted to 3rd, but unfortunately, I found 5th instead.
It was all over by then because he was already too far ahead and exiting. I didn't have a second chance to do it again. Had I gotten a second chance I think I could've beaten it because it was a convertibel. It was a long time ago and I was kinda new to the car.

Doh!
I go through all that trouble and I dont post the speeds. Well when we probably started somewhere around 65 because I was going 67 when I hit 3rd. My 3-4 shift was perfect and had to be at 9x mph. I know I let off and looked down and I was going 107 so I'm guessing we raced up to about 110-115. I was really excited the S did so well against a Vette even if it was an older car they still have twice our size of motor!
