Default C5 / Rustang / Eclipse/ ITR...

Friday night was crazy in Houston. Every racer was on the street.

Cute young female in a black Integra R, with a male friend of hers in the passanger seat (don't you hate that). The girl was all checking the car out while they were behind me, she was smiling, all giddy and stuff. They end up next to me at a light, I thought about messing with them - but suddenly they're not looking at me at all. After the light turns green, I just slowly start going - but I'm listening to see if she's about to go. So I can hear her not shifting out of 1st, so I floor it; she does too. As I fly by the dude in the passanger seat whips up his digital camera and takes a picture of me, a picture of me staring them down - straight faced. When we got to the next light they got behind me and the guy was showing the girl the picture, it cracked me up.

Old model Mustang Cobra, making lots of noise...we both dropped into 2nd, I took him so hard that I didn't even shift into 4th...the race was over after 3rd.

Eclipse, with intercooler. We both dropped into 2nd and half way through 3rd he was right with me, but after that my car took off...he was toasted.

Finally a C5. We were cruising the highway, and I pull up next to the C5 - going about 85 MPH. I've been looking for a C5 race singe I got the supercharger. I drop to 4th and gun it a few times, messing with the guy. He wouldn't go, so I go ahead and do a 80-100, to show off Still nothing, so I just cruise at 85 2-3 car lengths in front of him. Then he decides to race. He suddenly floors it, I wait for him to get next to me, then I drop to 4th. It took me 2-3 car lengths for my car to catch up to the same speed, about 100...but after that he couldn't gain anything all the way up to about 145. I slowed down and he kept going. Still looking for a good C5 race.

I've got a bud in Houston who probably wouldn't mind running his "rustang."

Oooops...there goes Wes, pissing on the Mustang crowd again...[comments deleted by Lips here] He's so bad!!

Mark

P.S. - I edited out some of my less-than-kind remarks to promote a sense of harmony for the board. I hope that in the future, my lame attempts at humor will be forgiven. As to the "My car is better than your car" debate...making generalizations like: "Rustangs are POSs" or "Real cars turn" or "I spent $15K to make my Rustang run a 13.5 and it's worth it" or "You have to rev to 8.3K just to get max torque" (my favorite) are not necesarily the best way to win any argument no matter how true they may be. Thank you for your understanding.

No, I think it was actually sporting rust.

To the Mustang guys, I said I beat a Mustang, not that I can beat all Mustangs. I'll run anyone though. If we ever meet up, it's on.

Curious to why you would use the word Rustang anyway... I guess the same reason morons call Hondas "Rice Burners". Anyway, I would love to run your car.... I know the s2000 is very cabable from a roll, but I bet your car is a pain in the ass to launch..... Please post your 1/4 times when you get a chance to run it, as I am very intrested in seeing the results.......

The Comptech SC S2000 ran 13.1. I think the only difference is that they have their exhaust on and my exhuast is stock.

And while you guys are at it, why don't you get out of the car after the 1/4 and do a 100 meter sprint to see who's the real man?

And then, if you're tired, think about doing a real race like adding some twisties or something more fun than just going straight. Your Mustang ain't shit when it comes to side-to-side skills.

Kick his ass, Wes. At least in the 100m dash.
