Nordic and makes a NordicCycle C5

So there are many C5's in the world.
We all understand that you dislike the vette and we all know that domestic quality is not on par with imports but that does not make domestic cars POSs, especially not the vette...

The point is, the guy is an enthusiast who is very welcome on this board as are all enthusiasts of fine sports cars of all makes and models.

You shared your opinion and we all did ours, lets move on.

Welcome Shizon to our board and nice car.

We all read your posts...Why not let off on your crusade?

You mention that you are tired of other car owners coming here and bashing on the S2K. You know what? I am too. But this isn't the case.
A fellow car nut comes here to learn about the S2000, introduces himself, answers a member question, and seem's to be an upfront guy. I'm sorry for your troubles with GM. I personally wouldn't drive one for pretty much the same reasons as you.
You said this is an S2000 board..right? so maybe we don't want to hear all you have to say about the 'vette. Just like you might not want to see a picture of his.
Calm down, relax, and just accpet the fact that for some people it is a BETTER car. They sell enough of them, are they all fools? I doubt it.

P.S. Welcome to the board Shizon

Ian,

Was my post necessary, after reading yours, yes I do feel it was necessary. Your ignorance is so apparent it's not funny. You read things, and go hey this must be true for all GM and Ford products out there. I actually have my doubts about American car quality, but I'm not going to base ALL my opinions on some things I have read. Also, when you are trying to prove a point it's on you to prove it to me, not for me to go look it up for myself. Thank goodness you aren't a lawyer, you would own a Kia.

Now, onto my long story that I admit was long and you probably didn't pay close attention too. Or maybe you just wanted to get out of it what you wanted and not what happened. It took my dealer FIVE hours to call me that nobody would look at my car because the original tech was not in. The reason no other tech was assigned was because an American Honda REP (no affiliation with the dealer) would not allow it. Why AGAIN is that HONDA wanted to be able to blame the TECH for faulty repair, so he wouldn't be able to bill for the time worked. Got it, it's called shitty ass customer service. It's called Honda passing the buck on one of their workers!! And it took about 2 hours to do the work, but since you have such a hard time comprehending, I have now stated everything for you again.

And just for the record, I have owned six cars, one a Toyota, one a Mazda, three Hondas (2 being Acuras), and a Nissan. Just so you understand I'm not an American car lover, I just like people that add useful facts and opinions and just don't talk in rhetoric and from books and magazines.

ERIK

PS: Ian, nice bikes though!

I too am a C5 (specifically Z06) fan...

Great bang for the buck. I have been concerned by reports of excessive oil consumption on more than a few engines...

Of course I'm also concerned about the longevity of the S2K second gear syncro's!

Fact is, almost every car I've considered has lemons, manufacturing problems and disgruntled owners. E46 M3's are having teething pains, Boxsters had slipped liners requiring complete engine replacements, C5's with reported excessive oil consumption, miata's with bad cam bearings, S2K's with second gear syncro problems, Ferrari's with sticky throttles, etc. etc.

It's the price you pay if you want to play!

PFB,

I agree that most high performance cars have technical glitches. You are right again that it is the price that is payed. S far my stook hasn't used any oil, at least not that I can notice. To some that might me bad, to others good.

There are lemons in every car line, it doesn't matter who makes them. The real difference is how mnay and how it is dealed with. A friend had a bad S4, the regional rep looked at it twice. When he went to the dealer to get back, they gave him the keys to a new one. That is customer service. I have also heard others that had a different experience, it was like pulling teeth to get anything done.

The C5 is far better then the previous versions. For awhile, it looked the the Corvette was dead, 14 years between a redesign is a very long time in the auto industry. It does have a good bang for the buck compared to the other competitors and is much more day-to-day usuable.
