I can't listen to "Aint goin down till the sun comes up" in the NSX anymore...doesn't fit. It needs to be either some screamo-punk band or techno to fit the part
I would like to say that the new BMW will be better than the Mercedes, but I think lately the MBZ's with the SC'ed engines have really caught up, and even surpassed the BMW's on at least the straight line acceleration tests. The latest S600 will kill the 760 Li. They have a AMG 65 coming out with even more hp. The 55 engines will destroy the current M engines, even with the V10's coming out, they must look at 550+. Hell the SLK 32 was a bit faster than the M roadsters. Mercedes has really done some great things with these engines. If BMW insists on keeping their engines NA, good luck. That 469 hp figure is off for marketing reasons. Their SL55 was originally supposed to come to America with that hp figure, but in dynoing the engine Mercedes found that on a consistent basis they were getting closer to the current 493 hp figure (and beyond) on their engines. Also the original hp on their TT V12 engines was supposed to be 469, but I guess they figured no way they could do that with the 55's making more hp. It's all a marketing plan to keep balance (i.e. price structure) so that the less expensive cars can't be made to seem faster than the more expensive Mercedes cars. You can say "but in the magazine I keep on seeing 469 hp," but actual real world dynoes have proven stated hp can be way off ala Alex at 440 whp, or how about Cobras that are pulling 360-370 whp, while being rated at 390 crank hp from the factory, or 911 TT's running 360 whp on an AWD dyno. Suffice it to say the 469 hp figure is VERY conservative. Wish Mazda would learn a lesson from this.
Well, with all those damned electronics on Mercedes these days
Oh yeah, here's another little tidbit to chew on. You don't have to be in engineering to be a member of the Formula SAE team. Anyone enrolled that college can join.
But they let mainly the engineering majors do the design and mechanical work on the car. Everyone else mainly just helps and learns a little.

Quit putting words into my mouth, please. Also, don't add and remove words wherever you see fit. Read. Comprehend. Post. It's really not that difficult.
I never said that UTI graduates are making $100k/yr as soon as they make it to industry. I said certified mechanics are making those kinds of numbers. UTI student... Certified mechanic... There is a difference. It doesn't take a hydraulic engineer to figure it out.
Do you actually think about what you're saying, or do you just bang away at the keyboard?
BTW, I was "handling" engineering just fine. I left A&M with a 3.75 GPR (with Physics, Calc, and Engr) because I didn't like it, not because I couldn't handle it. And at UTI, I've already received 2 SOP awards (Student of the Phase), so I'm not doing too bad there either. Again, quit assuming.
