That's so wrong, in so many ways.

well, if lowering hte car doesn't decrease the CD, but it does decrease the lift/drag, then isn't that almost one in the same?? oh well..

i do agree though that the weight distribution doesn't matter much at speed, but it does still matter.

and ya, 155 in a 200mph is very wrong...its like telling a hayabusa it can only start a race in 3rd gear from a dig!!!

Just for the record, drag is a formulation of air density, frontal area, speed, and coefficient of drag. Cd is based on how easily an object moves through a fluid. But, as you said, slamming the car will reduce drag slightly as it decreases the frontal area and affect the Cd ever so slightly as the tires are presented to less of an airflow. The Cd for the earlier NSXs are about 0.32.

I thought the 260hp was 260whp, as the NSX isn't stock. Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled discussion...

oh well...BMW always seems to outdo Mercedes in overall performance, i have no doubt theyll do it again. I read two comparisons at work over the summer comparing the e39 M5, the RS6 and the new e55 AMG. the M5 and RS6 switched, but in both, the e55 finished last. Straightline speed and high horsepower numbers arent everything....To be honest though, id buy the E55 over the RS6 and maybe even the M5. Cant deny the E55's great styling though

Alex - how about a scan of the dyno for your E55? Sounds way high to me - that's pushing a 100hp difference between the manufacturer's stated output and actual output. I can't see them lowballing THAT much.

And, just for the record, the E55 AMG weighs in at ~4200lb, makes 440rwhp, 471rwtq, and has an 0.32 drag coefficient.

I'll correct myself.

This is what Alex said:

On our last family outting to our deer lease in Honda (about 6hrs from Houston), I was driving the 575M. With my dad in the passenger seat, we were cruising at ~150mph for 15min at a time, with short burst up to 185mph or so. (This was also the first time I broke the magical 200 mark.) We would've "cruised" at a much faster 170mph or so, if we didn't have to wait for my mom (with my little brother in the passenger seat), who was driving the AMG, governed at 155mph.
Which I still call

Just like his S2000 is making 241rwhp with his imaginary "spoon cams" that most everyone says do not even exist.
