Supercharged s2000's = the lame. 5 grand for a paxton/vortech blower for a 13.4? Thats still slower then a stock evo. Have some respect for yourselves and keep the drivetrain stock. Your cars werent made to go fast in a stright line and it takes WAY to much money to make them do that.
You = the lame! Though S2000 is not a monster in a "stright" line, it's not slow by any means and can keep up with some more powerful cars, e.g. 350Z, last-gen Mustang GT, etc. Also, remember that S2000 has been out for 7 years without any major power upgrade. When it first came out, it kicked Boxster S in the rear, but other things have evolved and it hasn't.

Fusionchickenleg, good point. The fact of the matter is that the s2k is naturally aspirated and to jump into the world of forced induction isnt cheap. The evo is one hell of a bang for the buck theres no denying it.However almost any turbocharged car is fairly cheap to modify, some more than others. My race car has 425 whp and it only cost me $5500.I still have more room for improvement without spending a single dime. Its all relative.

the s2000 and Evo came a certain way from the factory....if you want to FI the s2000 it'd run you at least $3,700, and dump that into an Evo and you'd have almost 400whp on pump, and more on race gas.

this is deja vu, as i've just had this discussion with another gentleman from another thread on here about this

it's like saying the c6 is an impressive machine against the Evo, but take away 4 cylinders and 4 extra liters of displacement and see how the Evo fares....

supra TT is a great car, but the n/a is slow as balls, thus a 350z is better than a supra TT since it's also 6 cylinders but it's quicker than a non-turbo Supra...

FI is not some magical formula that's difficult to manufacture; it's just as specific as the f20c's high compression, 9000 rpm redline, etc

btw i have a IX and s2000 so i love the s2000, dont group me with someone like 'cheesefries' as he's a disgrace to all car enthusiasts.

and i've raced my stock s2000 against a stock vortech one, damn thing was pretty quick however my IX with tbe, mbc, and tune ($1,000) will be able to keep up/beat the stock vortech (at least $3,7xx?)....
AWSOME POST!!!!!!

sorry cheesefries for my quick judgment of you, just that one post of you stirred up some crap that some of us Evo drivers have to fix, since i'm all for peace and love

and yea Shotiable i'm from the Evo forums.....but i also have an ap1 in the garage love the s2000....speed isn't everything and the s2000 with its unique driving experience taught me that puts a smile on my face everytime i drive it...

and Joes Sled i agree that the s2000 being a 2.0 n/a is being compared to other FI engine is very impressive. however as long as we're talking about relativity, it's not always about power, it's also about weight, aero (coefficient of drag), gearings, etc....its why the k20 in the dc5's with i/e/rh/flash can keep up/beat stock s2000/Evo on the highway...the s2000 is about 3-400 lbs lighter than the Evo, has better Cd with the top up, etc...everything has an explanation.

every car has its own strenghts and weaknesses, and it's always the people that are trying to put one car as the absolute superior to another that gets me depressed we should all just apreciate all cars that are good at what they were designed to be good at.

+10000000000000000

I was obsessed with 1/4 mile times and horsepower before driving the S2k. I promptly bought one.

cheesefries and fusionchickenleg, this feels weird. It's like food is arguing over the internet.

Leave the roll and highway racing for the heavy v8's to frieght train through traffic like morons. Us 4 cylinders should be racing through the twisties, tracks, etc.
