Finally got to race a v8
Ever since I went turbo, mustangs and most other v8's besides vettes have always avoided me, really pissed me off because I wanted to see just how fast my car was. Finally found a late 90's mustang gt gettin on the interstate the other night who actually wanted to race.
He is in front of me by about 2-3 cars doin about 50 when he punches it, I'm in third around the same speed and punch it also. I'm already beside him by the time I shift into 4th, when I hit 125 I have about 7-8 cars on him atleast, steadily pullin away. I think he stopped tryin long before that. After that he would not get within 1/8 mile of me (distance might be slightly off.............he was pretty far back though). Most of the people who try me are civics, and integras. All with basic mods like exhaust, intake. Not makin fun of em, thats where I started. Just wish I would get a chance to race more v8's, but they all just seem scared when they here my bov.

I had the same issue supercharged.
But, but I have ran 2 V8 Mustangs(95 GT and 02 GT), and the same result as you. Boosted M3 and he had a better death (<99), but he still got crushed and that is with a passenger top down. I know what you mean about the BOV. I try to keep the car quiet.
I wouldn't even worry about it if the V8 did have a charger, after all it's a win-win situation for you. If you lose to a blown V8, there's no shame in it. If you beat him, big bragging rights! And it's lose-lose for him... if he wins, he lost to a four cylinder (albeit a fast FI'd 4 cyl), and if he loses, bwahahahahahahahaha he is shamed!!!

whats next.."through some twisties in there, our cars aren't made for straight lines"
should we apply your logic to s2ks vs. civics and cavaliers?
i'm not trying to sound like an ass. i've owned 2 s2ks and love them both

sorry to say but that is a dumb way to look at things.
This is, infact, why we modify our cars to begin with. You don't modify a Camaro because you're looking forward to beating a modded civic. You modify a Camaro because you want to race cars that are otherwise in a greater league. What would give you a bigger rush? Beating a Ferrari 430 or beating a Grand Prix with an exhaust on it?

He's not making excuses for the cars, he's simply talking about being real with what you have and accept the class of car you have. I apply the same theory with Motorcycles. If I run a bike and win, cool. If I lose, who cares, it's a bike.

like a video posted a week back, Toad I believe was racing a modded C6Zo6.... thats a win win situation for him, its a damn c6z!!!!
i understand... i guess i'm thinking about how many times i've heard "you just lost to a 4 cyl." (even though its got serious money into it) and if the v8 wins its "well he should cause i only have half the engine."
i hate that. esp. when someone wins with lets say a civic and talks the the guy driving a vette or something should go sell his car and buy a 4 banger or something...
its early for me so if i don't make sense sorry
