Seriously, before telling people that have OWNED both a G35 and S2000 that the G35 is slower... maybe people should first learn a little about acceleration...
Acceleration has to do with TORQUE (not horsepower), weight, and gearing... guess what ya'll... depending on the year model/style the G35 Coupe has 260-275 lbs/ft of torque... thats approaching twice as much as the S2000... (believe it or not, that makes up for the weight difference) The "only 40 more horsepower" has nothing to do with acceleration...
Ya'll don't have to get all defensive, We're not saying that the S2K sucks or is slow by any means... (I traded in my G35 for the s2000 and took a big loss on value because I love taking the s2000 up into the canyons/mountains/auto-x)
Anyways, I'm on to the next topic... no point in arguing over this... go drive a G35... then you can argue with yourself

uhm, chevrolet did a multi million dollar study, to prove one thing.
ACCELERATION IS A FACTOR OF HORSEPOWER. and the weight that this power is applied to.
diesel trucks often have 700 hp, and 1500 wheel torque. if what your saying is true, hell they would run 7s. but they dont, they run 12s, and 11,s. just what a car that weight with that HP would run. the torque isnt helping them.
nobody cares what a top fuel dragsters torque is, they just talk HP, and its in the 8000 hp range. never will they mention torque. why, they arent pulling semi trailers. end of rant

While Torque will have an effect, HP is the most efficient measuring mechanism--torque is one of the factors included in determining HP. Therefore, you're not loosing data, you're only gaining more information via an HP rating.
