Default First Kill vs IS300

Been debating whether to post 'cause it wasn't too exciting, but what the heck, it was my 1st race.

Was driving south on Fla Turnpike with lots of traffic and this Blue IS300 was driving like a total a-hole (getting right on people, flashing his lights, honking, swerving in and out). He was right on my arse (doing 75 in a posted 70) and twice he tried to floor in and cut around on the right, but he got caught by slow cars both times (I did not speed up to cut him off). Traffic cleared and I moved right and let him go.

1 mile later I get off at PGA Blvd, and who do I pull up next to at the light? There are two left turn lanes, him inside me outside. It's a long light and he starts revving. his GF looks pissed and won't look over, but I revved back.

I launched at less than 4K, and as we started turning around the corner my front wheel was about his at about his back wheel (1/2 car?). Anyway, he let off the gas at the tight part of the corner and I went right by. Shifted to 2nd and he was about 2 cars back. I shut down at Redline in 2nd and I could see his whole car in the rear view, I think three to four lengths. He stayed behind for about a mile and turned off. Anyway, he got off the gas so it wasn't really a good race. But it sure was nice beating him, I HATE people that drive like that on the highways.

Anybody drive an IS300? He looked like he had a lot of body roll going around that corner about 28-30MPH.

an S2000 will beat an IS300 no contest, but an IS300 ain't bad at handling.

Compared to an s2000 it is...but compared to other mid-sized sedans it's definitely one of the better handling.

The S2000 is more stable at speed, but the IS300 is not that bad, considering it has 4doors and back seat (also weight like 3400lbs). But for straight line performance... there's no contest. I raced 2 S2000s with my IS300 (one from roll and another one from stop)... got smoked twice . Well, the race from a roll wasn't that bad, I hung with the guy until 135mph+ then he was pulling away like 1/2 a car length (he had his top down). The guy I raced from a stop... by 50mph he was gaining 2 cars, and was pulling real hard. By the way, stock IS300 runs anywhere from mid 15's to mid 16's. My car ran 14.9 at the track and 14.6 on GTECH, not bad for an automatic family sedan. Now... it's on sale, anyone wants a daily driver?

Doesn't the the IS300 use the 2JZ-GE engine?

Well, many people have thought of dropping the 2JZ-GTE engine + 6 speed tranny into the IS300.

Yes, the IS300 has a 2JZ-GE block, but dropping a 2JZ-GTE + 6-speed tranny would cost around $20K.
There're bunch of turbocharged and supercharged IS300s out there.. making anywhere from 250-600+ rwhp (with stock internals). I'm dropping in a supercharger real soon since my S2K is totaled and I'm not getting another one.
