Default GT or V6

On my way home and a few cars ahead of me i saw the new Mustang turn signals So I caught up too him and saw that it was a dual exhaust basically brand new mustang at first i thought it was the GT but no 5.0 badges or GT and the wheels looked basic so V6 came to mind there was no Ford has come a long ways and finally the V6 mustangs have some power

so it had to have been a 2011 Mustang V6

Once I past him he got right on my tail and started following me close so I speed up and get on the right lane waiting for him to catch up. He catches up but with cars ahead of us he pulls ahead and i get behind him and follow

were on the highway doing about 65 in 3rd gear right at about 5500rpms

So im pumped to see how i would do with the new motors ford built

we start out 3 honks and were off I got the jump so his front was about at the rear of my car shift in the 4th still slowly hes catching up and right before i hit 5th he passed me

we stopped right then since cars were ahead of us I gave him the thumbs on and we were off our own ways I exited and he kept going

Overall i was very impressed with the performance of the new stangs my hat goes off to FORD who has stepped up its game.

08 CR 12,000 miles
Aem CAI
CT engineering catback exhaust
+1 200lbs passenger
=1 220lb driver

are my only mods on my car with the winter months

sounds like that damn new V6...ran one about a week ago w/ a buddie in the S w/ me(02 I/H/TP/3"E/4:30)...we went from ~60ish in third w/ him getting a slight jump and by ~115 he was stopped on my rear bumper when he let off...

it was a 3:31 car...my buddie w/ a SRT-4 thats typically dead even w/ me till ~130 ran a 2:73 auto new V6 and he said he had about 2 cars on him by 110ish

Actually, a V6 with the GT suspension package will destroy your S2000 on any track (turns or straight).

Now, if we go by the less-used and more important definition of handling (steering feel, feedback, and the car's overall ability to communicate back to the driver), the S2000 gets the nod.

I wouldn't call it destroy. But it certainly is a great handling car.

For the C&D lightning lap the V6 Mustang w/the performance package ran a 3:12.5 while hitting the 114mph speed governor for over 15 seconds a lap.

The S2000 CR did it in 3:15.0.

Yeah, I don't know why American car companies do that nonsense (I know some JDM "supercars" are like that too).

It's kind of like the 98-02 f-body. Stiffen up the chassis, suspension and put a lot of tire on it. Not the most fun to drive, but fast enough to pass Corvettes/E46 M3s/etc. with the right driver.
