375whp in an S2k isn't slow. I'm putting the same if not a bit more to the wheels and weigh 800lb less. Mustangs are still bloated pigs. I'd like to see one try and keep up with me around a road course of any dimensions

Mod your S fellas
Mustangs are heavy, they will require much more brakes and rubber and power to gain the performance level of a much lighter car. Its simple physics, lets not be delusional here.

Here are a few good reads if anyone's interested. Beats out the new M3, GTR and Z06 in a real handling comparison:

Another on why it is one of the best handling cars in the world:

Driving one is similar to the S2000 experience. It just has "it".

Is the Mustang allowed to have a supercharger and an engine swap too? Bringing mods into the discussion is pointless. There are so many factors (such as the Mustang's in tact warranty, cost and reliability) that big mods bring into the picture.
As explained early, the S2000 CR has better rubber than the Mustang.

Better tires? As in compound? What about width?
Yeah there is many factors involved, but the Mustang no matter what you throw at it will still be too heavy and not as balanced as an s2000 in competitive trim ie: upgraded rubber, FI etc. The new Mustang is a fast and comfortable car in its own right, much better then previous years. But its not an s2000 in any shape or form, no matter how much motor and stiff you make the suspension.

Sure it can have a SC. It would essentially be a GT500. It will be even heavier up front and overpower the tires throwing the balance off the car even more.

We already went over this. Same diameter tires in the rear, the S2000 has better compound.
As I explained in maybe my first post, I agree that the S2000 is the better true handler and obviously a better car overall. The V6 Mustang is faster in stock form, I'm not sure why you're going off on these weird tangents that have nothing to do with that discussion.
