Dark_Sub_Rosa: Have you ever encountered a chipped GTI?
my friend lives in my neighbord hood and has a 2003 GTi... he has a front mount intercooler, nx intercooler spray kit, catback exhaust. (he may have had more stuff, but that's the only things i can remember for now)

not spraying, I pulled on him decently... about 1&1/2 cars from like 50-80

i'm assuming your friend with the ecu upgrade and test pipe you might get beat like jake said... i dunno. run him anyways just to see.

My car is still stock though. It looks like you car is bpu with the intake, header, exhaust and vtec controller. Can you find out if your friend is chipped or not?

hey rice. i work for VW. i build the cars etc. my bud has one with garret chip, 16 psi, and down pipe, no exhaust, and cold air. i raced him 3 times, (in my rsx typeS) and would walk him 3 cars each time by 100 mph. and he can drive. so if you roll on in the S you should eat him easy. remember, vws are pigs, his gti is 3300 lbs without him in it. so try em out, dont be scurred. laters dave

S2oooNvegas, Thanks for the words of encouragement. I was wondering what kind of mods did you have in the type-s have did you run him from the deadstop or was it from a roll. BTW, my friends gti is running 22psi from what he tells with the revo chip, downpipe, and intake.

The R32 wet weight is around 3300 - 3400 lbs...

Hard to really judge it's performance statistically (hp/wt)... b/c I came across a VW forum and guys have hit 14.0 stock in those cars...

The 1.8T is 2800-2900 lbs...

Modded 1.8T's mid to high 13's... but from my experience the s2000 is faster in the triple digits...
