For like the 1246546574564765478 time, who buys the S2000 to race it in a straight line? Do you honestly think I care that one Camaro out of 1232546574534165746 made can beat me? No, I don't. As stated above, I question whether or not you guys understand the appeal of the S2000, because from your posts one can assess you have no clue what it was intended for. As I have said on this thread, and on many others, 13.9 @ 100 mph is enough for me. If that is not quick enough for you, more power to you.

I drive an F1-inspired sports car every day, and while I take sharp 35 mph turns at 70 mph with a big grin on my face and the top down...I laugh at those such as yourself that are overly concerned with straight-line power. Congratulations, your car will beat mine in a straight-line. I won't lose any sleep over it. I drive a classy sports car, if I wanted something that had more horsepower and is driven by half the United States, I would have bought a Camaro/Mustang.

For the fourth time, why, brockLT1 are you posting here? Have you owned an S2000? Have you even driven one? Why troll and S2000 web community? There are plenty of Camaro/GM sites, why are you posting on a Honda based one?
While I agree with what you're saying about the S2K driving experience, I just wanted to remind you that you're posting in the"Street Encounter" part of the forum. 99% of the kill/death stories you'll hear in here involves straight line racing, you'll very rarely hear about how someone smoked someone in the twisties. Nobody is saying that the S can't outhandle a Camaro on a tight and twisty track or in the canyons, and even you admit that the American V8s are quicker in a straight line. The OP asked if he can beat a LT1 in a street race, hence going straight. Instead of saying No, but the S have hp/liter, F1 Tech., drop top..etc, just give credit where credit is due.

I won't give respect unless it is going to be mutal. And I am betting that will not happen.

You missed the point on that one....think outside the box...how would the S2K run if it weighed 3600-3700 lbs and shifted @ 5700 rpm. Then put a 3.23 gear into the equation...
Ok, that was probably the dumbest post I have ever read.

Well...how would it...smart guy? Your not understanding the question makes the question dumb?

I am not saying the S2K is slow...but for the power it makes overall (which is not much)...there is more to it than the motor that gets the car moving quickly.

If you dont care so much about straight line speed, why care so much about the HP/Liter if speed is irrelevant and the twitchy top down unique handling experience of the S2K is of true importance?
My concern for the hp/l has nothing to do with acceleration or speed. The F20C, like many of the engines in the Honda family, is a marvel of engineering. When someone claims, I have XXXhp or I ran XX in the quarter mile and that, I find it irrelevant because the S2000 is the do all sports car.....because it has a lot of thought put into its design.

lets put it this way.IMHO i think those are slow camaros.i used to go out to the races and blow their doors of with a standalone 10psi turbo,35shot nitrous,b16 crx with drag radials.granted that car was way more modded than most cars ive run but i came across only 2 camaros that stayed with me and 2 that ran high 11s of which only got me by 2 or 3 cars. and that was out of 30 or 40 camaros ive ran in that car.it is in socal now if you see it it has solid steel balck rims and a glass top it is rhd one of few in the usa.no rice when i sold it.i want it back so bad.

I understand the question, but it has no relevance whatsoever. How did you logically come to this question? How would the camaro run if it had a Peterbilt body and cummings turbo diesel? It's like saying "what if the S2K was designed totally differently than its intended purpose, how would it run then, huh?"
