Default Itr....

I came upon this yellow ITR on the highway and wanted to race it to see how fast they were. However, he wouldn't race me. Anyway, I just want to know if anyone here raced ITR before....

For those that dont know ITR=integra type R

I'd bet that those would give you a good run, although i'd pick you as the victor. You've got a bigger hp advantage as an R has less than 200hp. If you can find one with a turbo kit, that would be more up your alley. Even those only run low 14's.

I don't know about that, I have seen an ITR with a homemade intake run a 14.0.

I raced a yellow ITR about 6 months ago on Rt 28....and I won by about 2-3 car lengths. We were both doing about 45, he pulled up next to me and as soon as I looked over it was on.

My car was stock although I had a passenger, I think his was stock too. This was my first race in this car, the other driver was a good sport.

Aside from the S/C, ITR's are ahead of us on the "modding curve." I can believe a 13.0. Someday, I hope, we can say the same thing. UL and others have spoken towards what we can expect but we have to wait at least another year. Hopefully the continued sales of S2K's will atrract more aftermarket development and more posted dyno sheets.

Then again, there's the S/C (little guy with pointed tail on left shoulder telling me, "come on, it's only five grand for eternal bliss..."

I own both. The ITR was the hands down choice for a cheap road course car, my corner entry speed on Hoosiers is higher than just about anything else on the track --- unfortunatly the 993's (particularly the turbo variety) walk away after the apex.

The ITR feels about as fast on a roll as the Stook, maybe a tad bit slower but I can see how the s2000 could lose a highway race, particularly if the driver did not drop down enough gears.

(The M coupe is faster than both in all conditions btw -- but I guess it should be for the extra dough and mods)

To add fire to the previous S4 posts that made me chuckle I should also add that I can walk away from them 40-100 by about 2 cars (6 speeds good drivers) in the ITR -- they reverse that order and length by 130. Have not had a chance to run one in the stook, but I would imagine the results would be similar to the ITR excepting that the stook should continue to walk at higher speeds.

A friend of mine put a Jap Spec Type R motor in a Civic Coupe EX body and put a Drag Gen III Turbo on it, he did 1/4 in approx. 12.41 seconds so I'm pretty sure a United States Type R model could do it under 13 with a turbo.
