hehe.. version... you have a gutless ap1....teehee... LOL.. JK. dont cry. dave
I'm glad you added the JK. 221 on a Mustang is not gutless.

If he would take a couple hundred pounds out of it and add a few appropriate mods he would prevail.

ive ran 2 997 carerras now, and they must have been paddle shift cars, by what ive seen. they were dead even with me. and you cant mess up the launch, or the roll with a car like that.
anyways, later. stuff to do. im out., dave
While I find at least 50% of his posts to be irritating and juvenile, as Steve C said you know nothing of Porsches and continue to flap your gums. Next time you "race" a 997 and see the person twitching his/her fingers on the steering wheel maybe you'll figure out he/she driving an automatic which is 1/2 a second slower to 60 and a full second slower to 100 than a manual and that is if they are in sport mode. Even then I doubt you are pulling on them.

My apologies to the original poster, nice kill.

Also Sideways your threads (at least the few I've read) are believable as well.

Modded vs. stock all bets are off. modded with FI vs NA stock is even worse.

The one thing true of all S2000 vs Porsche is the shifter in the S feels better than all the rest.

true, i give version some cred for his numbers...BUT. he also has sick ass air, and sea level on his side. man, when im in santa monica, holy jeezus. my car rips. only prob you have version, is i have more torque, and shorter first 4 gears. this is gonna hurt ya. (when we run) every time i race an ap1, with stock gearing, we leave, and im almost finished with 2nd gear, right as they are just finishing 1st gear. get it.. every gear you shift, ill be in the next higher gear and pulling. it makes a huge difference in the 1/4. lates

and... this means what to me. ive admitted i dont know alot about P cars, i could care less. i could just as easily use google, and act like i know it all, like 75% of you punks on here do. but you know what, it means jack to me. i dont care what porsches have. i see them, and they pick a fight. EVERY TIME. since they are SO fast, and everyone seems to have this knowledge, then why would they waste their time with a lowly little s2000.... cause they see a race beside them. if i was in a civic, or a miata, do you think theyd even rev. nope. remember, porsche is like VW, they have a few fast cars, then all the other stuff, is cows in the herd. id say (guess dont quote me and cry) 75% of porsches sold (at least in vegas) are the auto versions, and loaded out. and they always have top down, and prob full tank of gas. and are driven daily like an old granny car. they are showing off for the passenger, and prob dont even shift down, and i leave them like they are parked. the few that ive raced that were real close, had young kids driving, and ill tell you, neither of us was pulling. later. im rambling. dave

if you think an NA carerra of any year, will beat a c5 vette, or an E46 M3, you are high on some good stuff, and should be peddaling it.
A 996, E46 M3, and a C5 are "drivers race" in a straight line (I'd give the edge to the 996 and C5).

A 997S will walk any of the above.

and all of the above will destroy any S2K that doesn't have some pretty extensive mods (gears alone won't cut it).

Finally, the last time I checked the GT3 is a N.A. Carrera at least in Chicago. I'm not sure what it is in Vegas.

It won't walk a Z06.

talk at you all soon. take it easy. dave
That statement right there shows how little you know about these cars. The previous generation Carreras (310 hp) & M3 are more than a match for each other. My best friend had an M3, I've raced several. Dead even.

Again, unless you have stripped several hundred ponds off your car, NO WAY a NA S2000 matches up with a NA Carrera, especially the new ones, especially a Carrera S. Again these cars are trapping similar to SC & turboed S2000's. I'm not using vulgarity or profanity, just saying you are wrong. Numbers are numbers, they don't lie. Your 224 whp NA S2000 won't match up against a 12.8 car at any speed from a dig, from a roll on (it would be even worse). Don't care how many S2000's you have repaired, or tuned. Just not enough ponies. You are basically saying that your S2000 can run M3's, Vettes because those are the cars that can run the Carrera's, with the new Carrera S's (look at the 1/4 mile times & trap speeds) they are running C6 Vettes & SC/Turboed S2000's.

I think it's a good kill. And I'm sure any kid with a turboed [fill in the blank with your fav car, be it an econobox or sports car] would gloat when he beats a stock car that costs more than his. It's only natural. It justifies the exorbitant expenses while negating some deep insecurity. Forced induction is nice though.

BTW, why? Just curious.
