I just did a search on here. I found 10-15 people who reported their 60' times, and all of them were 2.0+. The average seemed to be 2.2. Just thought I'd throw that in.

'sup

If you guys stay on the streets I'd like to run both S2000s and LS1s. What the heck does LS1 stand for anyway? No way in hell I'm running more than 3-4 times in my car.

I am beginning to see that maybe our situation here in wisconsin is not the norm. But I must say that I go to EVERY friggin race wars we have here, and I have seen a LOT of LS1 camaros run. I have NEVER seen a stock LS1 Camaro run a time less than a 13.4. Are you saying all wisconsin drivers are idiots?? I went to talk to my best friend's brother. He's got his own garage and an LS1 camaro. (He's building up an old Chevelle right now). He's a big muscle head and I told him the situation here. This guy knows hella info about pushrods and muscle cars. Even HE said that if you saw an LS1 camaro run into the high 12's that there is NO WAY IN H*LL that those cars were stock. Even if they said they were. He said that the Camaro's exhaust is extremely restrictive, and there were other factors that made it not as quick as the Trans Am or Vette. I have also raced him twice. I won once, he won once. He quotes me as definitely being an above average driver. But even so. He said even the best LS1 drivers ACTUALLY DRIVING stock camaros should run no better than 13.3's at BEST. This guy is a god when it comes to pushrods and muscle cars. I have NO reason to doubt his word.

That sounds a lot faster than the best S2000 times being reported.

Well I'm not going to argue with you but things to keep in mind. I'm in Houston (read sea level). I know the guys who own and race these cars personally and I know their cars. They are stock.

There's no sense in arguing the point as we obviously have different experiences but this little test should settle the debate for the vast majority of the population. We'll take 2 (or as many as want to participate) S2K's and we'll line em up against 2 (or more) LS1 powered cars and settle the arguement. I'll wager that the S's don't get many wins.

When it comes to building and racing LS1's I'm simply not bowing down to many people, certainly not a guy I don't even know. I respect the fact that you think he's a "god" but that in no way influences my opinion and I'm guessing nobody here cares what his opinion is either. It's not as if you're gonna change the world's opinion by stating that a guy we've never heard of agrees with you.

Bottom line is that the proof is in the pudding.

I figure the camaro has the edge mostly because its easier to drive 10/10ths.
It took me some time to get used to the S2000 . . .

Hey Insomniak! Guess what, when we were running side by side, I didn't know my mainshaft bearings were shot So maybe I would have pulled alot more, who knows?

I'll wager that the S's don't get many wins.
Z28 stock = 5.7L V8
S2k stock = 2.0L I4

hmmmm....gee.... I think I just might bet on the LS1 also The Z28 was DESIGNED FOR drag racing and the S2k was absolutely NOT designed for drag racing. The fact that the cars are even so close that there is room for debate like this is pretty funny and uncanny in itself.
