LS1 vs AP1
Why do you guys think i waited a week to post? Because you will ALWAYS have that guy that calls BS and says no that can not happen under any condition. So when that guy gets on here and calls you a lair, who cares. Remind him of the facts and get over it, because you know the truth.
My cousin has a 2002 Camaro LS1. I think it makes 325 factory, he has exaust on his. we raced it in my brothere 2008 civic si and (granted my brother is a WAY BETTER driver) the civic was only a fender back.
I believe ya. Good kill!
Be careful of those LT1s though - most run like shit (exhaust leaks, dead O2s, misfiring opti ignition), and as they get cheaper, more ghetto superstars are getting them to put 20s on them.
I had a 340rwhp 1995 LT1 z28, and I was walking LS1 corvettes all day. That is, until it blew a piston ring at the track, spewed oil out the valve cover bolts, and caught on fire.
All it had was a full exhaust, 1.6 roller rocker, a small cam, and a tune.
I love f-bodies to death (well.. to be honest, I *used* to), but I can't say the average f-body owner is very open towards other cars. Sounds like this guy had his head on straight though, so I was glad to hear that.
What kind of work do you have done to the S2000? 220rwhp is impressive!
PS - the camaro is not that heavy a car. 3300-3400lbs. Consider the NSX is 3100lbs, and the 350Z is about 3200lbs. The BMW 135i is a 3400lbs car. They hold their own at thunderhill, besting cars like the boxster and M roadster. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...5&page_number=3 But yes, number of cylinders mean nothing - a 2000lbs 4 banger exige would put the hurt on a camaro, no doubt.

Also i agree they are not heavy cars by any means. As far as what i have done to my car, i replaced the f20c block with the f22c block. So i run a f20c head and a f22c bottom end. The head has a 3 way valve cut and a back cut. I have a lightened flywheel and clutch kit. K&N drop filter, invidia header, test pipe and tanabe exhaust. So very mild bolt ons. I think with better bolt ons you could get alot more juice, but im just saving for FI. Ofcourse i got the 4.56s gears. Soooo all that and 221whp lol.

Dude, who cares about the whp, the work you did is impressive.
I'm just learning about the S2000 - are there advantages to the f20 head that the f22 head doesn't have? And does the f22 bottom end have advantages to the f20's? I know the f22 has a lower redline, but I'm not sure if that was due to any changes in the stroke of the bottom end?
Man, I can't wait to get into an S2000. I'm going to sell (or trade in) my Z06 for one - I just don't need 405hp to drive to work and back at 40mph. I just put an offer on a house though, so I can't make any changes to my credit until escrow closes.
I am itching for an AP1, so bad!
