I have yet to see anyone that owns an LS(X) say anything is better, so you may as well write LS1>all.

It's a badass engine that I appreciate(nearly full torque off of idle ), but I think MANY MANY people are sick of the elitism that usually comes with the owners.

I'm NOT saying that you don't appreciate other cars or are knocking the S2k. I'm saying that you better put on your flame suit if you're going to post in a manner consistent with what everyone expects from someone with a Camaro in their sig.

BTW, making up excuses for a car you've never seen or heard yourself FTL.
Honestly though...it pretty much is the best engine out there (and I don't even own one). Huge aftermarket, cheap, great tuning potential, simple, light and a design that has stood the test of time.

I don't know you. I've seen your videos (which were pretty cool). Not arguing that your S wasn't a 12 sec car. I'm very sure it was. Anything with squeeze is going to scoot. However, I was referring the 245 rwhp to myself. I think that it's pretty funny when you think it's highly unlikely for the S (or a modded bolt on S) to be even close to one of these. You have to remember that im comparing a modded NA S against a STOCK LS1 or whatever. And if people say the Cam SS and the corvette share the exact same motor, why are corvettes faster? Are they lighter? A stock ws6/SS is nothing but a high 13 sec car.

I think my 245 hp/175 lbs would be more than enough to hang with a stocky if not slightly pull on it.

And yeah..I would think your prior S would have spanked me.

My car is def not in the 12's, but I'm highly convinced it's a mid 13 sec S.

I jumped 20 hp in the midrange and 10hp at the top with an 8500 redline with bolt ons and an EMS tune (stock exhaust). I'm pretty confident from a dig .

Stock SS/ws6 vs tuned ap2

What do you all think?
lol

Well first off a stock WS6 is not a high 13 car. Unless the driver sucks.
The S is a high 13 sec car with a good driver and a mid 14 car for most.

The Corvette is quite a bit lighter than the Chev or the Ponitac. It only out weighs your S by about 3-400 pounds yet it has 350 stock horsepower compared to 237 for the Honda. That is almost one third more power.
Plus the LS1 has torque and plenty of it across the powerband. So really all you need to do is mash the pedal just about anywhere in any gear and it pulls instantly.
And it is more aerodynamic than the Honda.

Here is what I think...

First off you are wrong on how quick you believe the SS or WS6 to be which makes you even more wrong on how quick you believe the Vette to be.
Second there are plenty of us Vette owners on this site who also have or still do own S2000's and obvioulsy have had experience with both. The S is a great car. It is the most fun car I have ever owned. But a stock S will not take a stocck LS1 SS or WS6 or a Vette. I have a stock Vette and I have run a Camaro and beaten him and I have run a stock AP2 and it was not pretty.
Sorry...I have no reason to lie to you.

Basically what you said.

They're nearly the same thing, and what's so hard to comprehend about wanting an S2k? He already gave his personal reason.
Personal reason for wanting a slower car? Isn't the AP2 more commuter friendly anyway? I can't imagine an AP2 being out of his price range, despite the fact that he's buying a house.

[QUOTE=LS2GOAT,Jun 21 2008, 11:35 AM] Fair enough. I don't frequent these forums enough, but I can imagine the AP1/AP2 posts over the past few years. My main point is that...since he's selling his Z06, why not get something that's newer?

*edit: where'd your post go?
