Mountain? What's that? No mountains (or hills for that matter) to speak of in Dallas... I'm jealous!

Nice kill!

Definitely not the norm, but I'm not going to say it didn't happen.

Like I said, I don't know how hard he was going for it, but he definately peeled out pretty good at the start.
Doesn't sound like an SMG car or an M3 at all really...they are extremely easy to launch but difficult to spin the tires for any length of time. If he spun then he had DSC turned off so maybe he just missed a shift or something.

Anything can happen in the street, and the fact that it was not 'supposed' to go down like it did shouldn't take away from the fun.

A few years back, after I got the SC installed, I did innumberable runs with a good friend who had a 6MT E46 M3, stock down to the air filter. We switched drivers, ran on slight uphills, slight downhills, totally flat, with most runs from 40-120 and it was about as even as two cars could be in a straight line. Without FI, the M3 'should' be the faster car.

Yep I have beaten cars that should have been faster than mine many times...poor cars handicapped by bad drivers.
