So I dropped off my boss to pick up his M3 from an oil change and before he got out of my car, he asked me to stay for a bit so we can roll back together and go for a quick race. He always loved the s2000 and wanted to see what it can do against his M3. His car is a 2003 convertible so I figured why not, the car is a bit heavy so maybe I can take him and he's got the SMG. I have a 2001 s2k all stock that I picked up two weeks ago.

We started off from a 60km/h roll. I started off at 2nd gear and we were pretty much even until I hit 3rd and he was about 1 car away until we hit 120kmh. Next one is from a stop light. I never launched the S from a stop so it was something new for me. Red light turns green, had the worst take off and he was 1 car up by the end of first gear. 2nd gear he was 1.5-2 cars ahead and it stayed that way until end of 3rd gear.

Any inputs on which rpm I should launch the S? My previous car was a t/c fwd Celica and everytime I launched all I would get is tire spin until the end of 2nd gear so I was used to launching it at pretty low rpm. I didn't get a pretty good outcome with the S2000 with the same rpm launch. We are going to an actual race track in a few weeks and I've done the I/E mod to the car. I wanna see what we both can do now on the 1/4 mile and also on the circuit.

Yeah, you're suppose to launch really high on the S2000.

 

i hate launching the S ive done i rarely do it. ive never launched over 6k but one time i launched and smelled a weird smell i guess i burned the clutch or somethin

 

but wow i didnt know our s2k was that close to the m3 it seems ever time i drive down to VA beach i get some guy in a M3 switch lanes get right on my ass and then floor it around me. i would never bother because all i have is a exhaust but i guess ill give it try next. its just so hard to go anywhere in the S without gettting challenged to a race :0

 

just today alone i was with my girl and the top down and i pulled right next to a silver M3..the newer model..... he had some girl with him and i stared at him hard with my sunglassess and just smiled..........and steady stared at him.... he just gave me this... "umm...your gonna smoke me" look......

I just started to gradually go....actually he started to slow down hahahah.. i think my confident look made him not wanna go hahahahaha.... and he probably coulda walked me...

Not to hijack your thread, but I did once have a run in with a red E46 M3 once, driven solo by a young cocky Asian kid.....

I was coming back from my camping trip, had the truck full of junk and camping equipment, and 2 big guys, and part of the rear seat packed with more camping equipment.... and this also was when I was on the stock turbo....

guy does a fly by on me, I downshift, reeled the sucka in so fast and put half a buslength on him in a matter of moments... lol.... me and my buddies couldnt stop laughing like little school-girls....

Gotta love the kills when people think you are the underdog..

 

M3 owners are cocky as all hell everyone of them ive come across even this old dude and his wife tried messing with me

 

i killed 2 M3's at hightway kinda busy, and 1 at twisty roads , but i can't do shit on the straight way. lolz
