I do know that the '04 M3 with SMG tranny does have a launch control feature that works like a 2-step, a friend has an M3 and proceded with the unique procedure to ingauge this feature and it(the launch) was perfect everytime,,,,,,,That was my impression anyway.

6k if you are at the track do it about 6 1/2 or even 7 depending on tires...

M3's E46's are no slouches.... they trap in the 105mph range on 1/4 mile tests on paper.

I routinely trapped at over 107mph when my M3 was stock..they're geared pretty well over 80mph.

dam, that's a pretty high trap speed... I wouldn't be surprised if you had a factory freak.

It's not that unusual...guys have dipped into the 12's in stock E46 M3's. I would say 105-106 traps are more common but I've seen them trap as fast as 108.

e46 m3's are no joke, crazy power up top, they never feel torquey like an evo or sti, but they get over 100 in 3rd gear and just keep going after that
