Was going up on a nearby freeway (mountain road) just for a fun drive that I usually do, then turned around and was about to begin going downhill when I had to yield for a black miata. The road is a one lane for about 7 miles no room to overtake the person, and extremely windie, basically advised miles turns on the road is 20mph to as low as 16 mph.

So the miata goes infront of me, and I'm behind and he starts going pretty fast about 45mph, I'm still not that good witht he s2000 since I've only had it about a month, so I know the handling of the two cars is similar, so I kept up with the guy to see how hard I can push (rule of thumb in my area, if the miata's got a roll bar, dont screw with him since some have 500 hp, this one fortunately had none, so was fairly sure it was stock).

I really dont know if the guy was just going fast or trying to outrun me, but he was doing about 55 on twisties, and 60-65 on straights, I held close and we were coming up to the last area of the run when we got stuck behind a minivan so we both slowed and just eased for the rest of the run.

Flashed a thumbs up to the guy and he flashed one back then just went our own ways. Not really a kill but cool drive nonetheless =)
Was impressed at how the miata was being driven and the handling ability though I still find the car to look girly Cool driver and just all around fun =)

 

alot of people find that the s2000 looks girly too. just cuz they think all roadsters look girly.

 

i have an 01 miata... in the turns he should be able to stay with you pretty well... but if you drop it into second coming out of a turn you would have toasted him...

good point about the rollbar... there are alot of tuners throwing montrous turbos onto their miatas... i figure i could just save all those thousands of $$$ and buy a used S.

 

I've never heard anyone call S2000 girly =) interesting (at least not black ones).

Yea i was keeping up just fine, was single lane road so no point in trying to push him =) didnt wanna see car infront of me explode in a ball of flame cus he got pressured to go even faster (was doing 2x speed limit)

 

S2000s are manly.

 

Just today, I was at my friend's law firm, and an attorney said that my car was very nice looking, and very pretty for a girl too. Basically, he meant that the car was girly, but very pretty. But hey, I'm not complaining. It's very exhilaratingly fun too.
