Cliffs notes - modded NA ap1 beats modded STS

OK...I know this isn't that interesting of a race. It is a 4000lb luxo-barge. But the guy was spoiling for a fight. And it seems most of the folks who pick on me are in trucks or huge luxury sedans.

Anyway...I had just stopped to get groceries and fuel on the way home and was sitting at a light at an overpass, so about 100yards away is another light. A big black Cadillac pulls into the empty lane next to me. I can't help but notice as we sit there that the damn thing is rumbling!

The light at across the overpass turns red and a moment later ours turns green. I take off slow...no reason to go quick with another light up ahead. This guy takes off aggressively and jerks into my lane as soon as he is around me.

As he passes, I see his car is lowered. Not sure why you would want to do that to a luxo-barge. And I hear a really loud exhaust that I would expect to hear on a rodded LS1 rather than a smooth 4-cam Caddy.

I jump into the other lane and we know it is on. I decide not to do a side step. The light turns green...I quickly bring the revs up and let out the clutch fast at about 5k rpm (just into VTEC on my VAFC'd car). I get a slight tire chirp and no bog. We are even nearly all through 1st but I pull a quick car length as I hit 2nd dispite a slipping clutch. Pulled another half or more as I hit 3rd and shut down as we approach traffic.

 

hehe, nice. what happened when you got to the traffic? he try anything after that?

 

He continued to be a jerk in traffic...but I was able to stay just fast enough to block him behind slower cars until I reached my turn. I love doing that to an asshat.

 

they not that slow, i killed a prowler back in the day.
