If you've only had the car for 1100 miles, I doubt it will benefit you to race from a complete stop, unless you've been practicing your clutch dumps in the last 500 miles.
I can't imagine how it'd take someone more than a few tries to learn how to dump the clutch; hold RPMs, side-step, don't hesitate.

As for the race, I'd say it would depend on the driver. Race him and see is the best advice (preferably somewhere where noone will die)

I think it depends on what his last car was. It might have been a lifted 4x4 or something. It was suprising at first to me how many people didn't just upgrade from another honda/acura.

I guess some people can't drop it fast enough. (Can't move their foot off) I can, but a LOT can't. That's why they should side step to be on the safe side

I had a Volkswagen R32, and a WRX before that. I guess we will do it in the next couple of weeks.. to bad there are no schools in session. I love dragging racing in School Zones j/k. We have a pretty safe spot in mind, although everyone at the dealership wants us to do it right in front

ITR is just fast off the line mainly to it gearing if you can take it there you basically win.

DC2 Type-R since that's what the topic is about and if you want to be pedantic.

Stock S vs Stock R, S>R but not by much.
Stock S vs Mod R, questionable..

I have both and I actually was very disappointed with the S acceleration when test drove it but ended up getting it anyway...
