I've got a "Grandma" '01 Buick Regal that will smoke a stock S2000. The best thing about the Regal GS is that hardly anyone knows it shares its powertrain with the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (L67 supercharged 3.8). Certainly no match for a stock S2000k (well, maybe from a roll), but for far less than the price difference between an S2K and a GS , the Regal will run mid 13s - and still look and sound stock. The look of shock and disbelief on the face of performance car owners when they can't hang with a grandma 4-door is priceless. Of course, the Regal will never handle or look half as good as an S2000.

Anyone who thinks a stock lightning can run mid twelves is misinformed, they run low thirteen's at best

s2k:
0-30=1.8
0-60=5.2
0-100=13.6, at least you admit that it was the slowest one you've seen, but come on that test wasn't even close to broken in.

Please people, read my post before you respond. I never claimed the Regal was competition for the S2000. Let me try this again:

1) In an earlier post you said
ill race a grandma in a buick regal if i think its gonna be a good race [/B]
. The very clear implication is that you consider Regals the benchmark by which slowness should be measured.

2) I responded with some Regal GS performance information to make the point that the Buick Regal is far from being an exceptionally slow car.

3) Someone else who missed the point of my original post cited some C&D test data. I responded by posting some C&D test data for the S2K in an effort to illustrate that mag test data is not always accurate.

If your S2k only runs 13.6, you might want to visit clubgp.com and read about the dozens of daily driven Grand Prix GTPs and Regal GS grandma cars that will hand you your ass. In fact, I've got an '01 Regal that will beat you and I'll even leave all of the seats in. Invite your friends. It'll be fun watching you explain how your 2-seat (sorry, 1 seat) sports car got smoked by a 4 door grandma car. The fact that you think 13.6 is fast speaks volumes about your automotive knowledge.

You could have saved yourself some embarassment by doing about 2 minutes worth of research before posting something as ludicrous as
A BUICK ,,that led sled would not have a chance in hell
13.6 wit no seat bring it on !!!s2000
To paraphrase you - bring it on.

I remember Buick making a Regal in the late 80s that was pretty quick. Any color you want as long as it's black..........
