Pouya, that is a sweet setup you have there in your MR2 - you show you have 370 bhp which I guess translates into flywheel hp but did you use a 15% drivetrain loss to get the hp/torque figures or are those actually rwhp figures? Either way, sounds like some cool turbos. I have my turbos running parallel also and am getting ready to upgrade both turbos with larger compressor wheels and such should be around 380-400 rwhp at 15 psi this might scare me...I know Toyota upgraded the suspension in 93 and pulled like a .94 on the skidpad. I was sad to see it go since this car was my favorite car on the market when it came out in 91. I had a supercharged 88 MR2..the handling absolutely sucked (.78 skidpad) but it was pretty darn quick. The MR2 turbo (stock) isn't quite as fast as the stook but with an exhaust and boost controller I could see the duece pulling a stook. I wouldn't mind having a 95 MR2 turbo - don't think I've ever even seen a 95.

14.2-14.4 is probably what average S2k owners get.

Old Thread but I can't pass this up.

The S2K will run circles around the MR2 in handling. I have both cars a 91T and an 00 S2K. I compete with both cars, though doing much more in the MR2 this year (about time I stopped treating it as a second class citizen).

Heck I have coilovers and a track alignment on the MR2 and I still think the S would give it a run for it's money on the track.

Bottom line, there is no better handling production stock vehicle than an S2000.

Still the MR2 can be impressive and since you're buying used, you get a hell of alot of car for 1/3rd the price of an S2K. But it's really just not the same.

Maybe if you put an extra 20K and chopped the hood off the MR2 you could make it more fun than an S2K... Maybe.

Oh but if you want a drag car... go with the MR2.. the S2K is not designed as a drag car. It is "technically" underpowered and the engine is basically at it's full potential (reliability wise anyhow).

I was under the impression that their are no coilovers available for the Mr2. That is what I found when I wanted one. And that is also what the MR2 people told me. They say that the front suspension is packed in too tightly. So everyone just buys shocks and springs, with the exception of one guy who custom made his own coilovrs.

Have they released a set of them recently?

Most definately. I have Tein HA's. I'm quite sure there's a half dozen other setups too...

I'm not sure when they were released.

As for the other MR2 owners comments. Perhaps this is simply because they're running large wheels... adding coilovers (at least the Tein's) reduces the width of a wheel you can put in the front. I think a 7.5 can be showhorned in. Some say they've gotten an 8" in there. I'm running 15x7's.
