mustang gt?

I had a Laser Red Convertible 2000 Mustang GT and a 911 now. If you believe the numbers of the 911 in the trade rags (4.8-5.0 0-60, 13.3-13.5 in the 1/4) there is NO WAY the auto GT is running even close to 13.7's. I felt that the thing was a good 1-1.5 seconds slower than my current car (maybe it is the convertible or the auto part). I saw in a Car & Driver artibcle on convertible autos where the GT ran like 14.8. I believe that number a lot more than the low 13 side (even with stick). I had air intake & throttle body and it was still SLOW. I have driven the S2k and maybe it is just the peaky nature of the engine but I thought it was way faster too. I have beat the crap out of a lot of stock Mustangs in my car now, and that wouldn't happen if they were running 13.5's-13.7's. I have a lot of respect for American cars (so many aftermarket parts for them that makes me sooo jealous). I just seriously doubt sub 14 times for bone stock Mustangs. 14.4 feels about right.

If stock Mustangs runs 13.7's don't these Saleen's with the supercharger and all this engine work seem like a rip off if they are only running 12.9's ? Doesn't the new Cobra with supercharger look like a rip off now if with DOHC and supercharger they only drop 1 sec (Best time I have seen is 12.6 for the new Cobras) ?

Agreed, no stock mustang stick or auto can run 13.7 or lower without DRs. Autos run around 14.2~4 stick running 13.9~14.3 on sea level. There has only one case so far where a stock mustang ran 13.7, was FF&MM. They have awsome drivers, hell they even ran camaro ss to 12.8 or 9 ( not sure ) bone stock. A broken in 911 is low 13's car and is about 1 sec faster than gt.

PS: The 03 cobra like supra is far below its potential in stock form. When modded, well it can take 500+ rwhp without a sweat.
