Default my 2nd kill - carrera s

connected with a newer(97-98) white carrera s with personalized plates "4DBENDS" on Saturday afternoon. Got behind him on the freeway on-ramp which branches out into two lanes. Gunned it through second gear on the turn and was right on him. I could tell he was punching it as well because his exhaust had a pack of smoke come out - perhaps between shifts? Was it running poorly? Anyways, he went to the outside lane and I was on the inside and burned through second gear into third and saw my s2k pulling him? Did he mis-shift? This is a mighty carrera! Saw an opening as we entered the freeway and hit the fast lane as I redlined 3rd gear and hit 4th. The carrera got stuck in traffic and was left behind in the slow lane. I buzzed back down and into the slow lane, waiting for him to come back for more. He was three cars back in the slow lane and not trying to come forward at all. Embarassed? Maybe it was a tiptronic... Oh well, my s2k just took a carrera s - my future mid-life crisis car! He stayed behind me for the next 3 or 4 miles, never venturing closer and I was going 60 waiting...looking... but he was done. I thought they were a lot faster - but maybe he mis-shifted...I had fun.

Nice work. Tiptronic Carreras are not as fast as we think they are (minus the Turbo, especially the Cabs). I've beaten a couple.

Ran even with a 1999 911 Cabrio with tiptronic up to 120mph, where we both shut down.

Probably something wrong with the Carrera S or the driver was having a bad day, or both, a stock S2000 should lose, but on any given Sunday....

That's supposed to be a spy photo, and the car is disguised. I hope so...
