DUDE, im seventeen and I have an S, I got it because I knew about the car ever since it came out in 1999 and have been around them for 3 years before i got my 2002. If u think u can handle it, then go for it. I got a whole buch of crap that the car would be dangerous in a kid as young as I am, but just be careful

Yo Derick.....nice Choice on the s2000.....But it can be very tricky......Also
Your young and there is a lot of jealous jerks your age that would give you shit for owning such a nice car. If it is a must have for you .....go for it ...but be ready for daddy's car comments and jealous jerks .....real easy to break into a convertible. Take a look at the rsx-s, Gti 1.8t, Wrx.......Our hell wait for the turbo neon "17,000k 0-60 in 5.4"and blow the doors of civics left and right.....I bet your dad would be mighty impressed if you chose one of these other cars and said hey Dad...the s2000 might be a little much for me now....how about i get a cheaper car and we put a killer thousand dollar stero in it......And maybe when i graduate college with more driving expierence i'll take ya up on an s2000. But The s2000 is awesome. If ya got the will power not to be stupid get the s2000. If i had this car a 16 i might not be hear today...I had a firebird in the 80's and to much goose at a young age means trouble...been there done that. I walked more than drove my senior year in highschool...The car was always in the bodyshop...
our i was waiting for new rims after I had a few battles with curbs. If ya want to stay with rear wheel and really learn how to drive....The Miata..."no flames please" is a great car to learn how to drive fast in! Good luck derick and hey keep us posted on what ever ya get! Remember its real nice to have the nicest car in school.....but after ya wreck it on a weekend....boy that monday morning in the halls.......SUCKS!

Dude I like the S2000 too. I owned one. Believe me, I spun out in that car so many times. You have to have some RWD experience to drive the car well. There are no safety features like active handling. Its pure race car.

My only thoughts are if you get the S2000 then go on some sort of advanced driving course, this may keep you alive. You will come to grief at some point just due to inexperience.

There is power through torque and power through revs (S2000) Everything about this car encourages you to rev it to feel the VTEC power. You may have extraordinary powers of self control though so good luck with what you decide
