pulled this off my home forum.. so excuse the excess im lazy and excited right now.. since my CDV ruined my first v8 encounter when i was pulling on a 03 mach1 and every shift i fugged up and let my CDV ruin my win..

anyways.. i got back into the rhythm of driving my car and here is my story..

On my way home from Metairie im cruising with the top down.. just minding my own business going about 70 or so.. i pass up this red fox body.. loud and obnoxious but he was going about 60 so i just went around him.. and around the power blvd overpass he starts pacing me.. WTF??? so im like whatever and just keep driving to my destination aka HOME.. well when we get to the loyola overpass he decides to rev at me and hit it.. i wasnt even ready or in the right gear since i had to drop 3 gears to make any power..

he takes off.. i rev up and put it in 3rd.. top of 3rd i start pulling on him.. so now i taste blood and the water.. and this little shark wants to go fishing.. i get infront of him to try and direct him towards 310.. he bites.. we go around the curve and hes right back at my driver door in this loud ass car that has no kind of bite..

slow down to 60.. where my vtec is in 3rd.. 6k baby!! he slows down more WTF?? okay lets try 53/55 mph.. somewhere around 5300 rpm.. whatever.. lets get it done!!

i honk it off 3 times.. and he hits it.. i lay into as soon as i hear him get on it.. so there was no mistake if i was going to pull him.. top of third i had like 2 cars on him.. shift to 4th.. i pull more cars.. WTF?? where is his car at.. i let off at 110 in 5th gear with like 8 cars on him because my phone that was on my lap seemed like it was about to be gone with the wind.. i put my flashers on and tapped the brakes so he'd see that i stopped and wouldnt ricer flyby on me thinking that he got me up top..

anyways i slow back down to interstate speeds and he never comes near me again.. i guess i showed him that 4 cylinders are more than what he bargained for..

anyways.. somebody on here has to know him..

etc.. thats all i could see.. he was black too..

i wouldnt mind going from a dig with him.. that would play to his advantage.. so if you know him.. whats up??

anyways.. lesson of the day is done.. class dismissed!!

you never know I killed two this week a modified late model lightning like it was standing still and a sweet 57 chevy wagon ? that was fully restored and had some awful knarly sounding v8

the wagon started to catch me around 85 going up a hill but he had to slow down 2 car lengths still behind me - the tire marks when he hit second went on forever it seemed like.

I actually felt bad because I hadnt started out to race him and he had a really nice restored boku duckets car but we raced twice heads up and I won both.

I've raced my bosses srt8 before and always do well despite minor mods and a not exactly stellar 90K clutch.

Killed g35 after g35 till I went up against one with same intake and header as me in a 6 speed and we were dead even, could tell he was pissed.

fox body 5.0 is sloooowwwwwwwwwwwwww it takes alot of mods to make one fast

No...God no. It doesn't take a lot of mods or a lot of money. They are THE budget straight line car.


The fox likely had only minor bolt-ons like intake/exhaust if you're pulling 2 cars from 55-80. What makes you think it had a cam?


Edit: It should be noted that a lot of them are not only high mileage, but have been abused. They're not all in great running condition.

Oh and there's an old saying: The bigger the cowl, the slower the Mustang. While a cowl hood can be functional, it's mostly done to appear fast. And they call us Honda owners ricers...

 

It's possible this is the biggest lie ever told. While they may be slow in stock form by today's standards they are relatively light weight and very cheap to make very fast. There's a reason you will see a lot of them at the drag strip.
