Default my00 vs. 00-01

One of the few times recently that I've driven the S, on my way to another city with my homegirl, top is of course down because my plastic window looks ghetto. Up ahead I saw a berlina, early ap1, same ghetto window, he was top up. Rolled up to him, came near them at a traffic light, next light I was behind him and he was behind a truck.

The road we were on was turning into a highway, and there wasn't going to be a light for a couple miles, so as the light turns green, the truck goes, he goes and as soon as the right lane is free, he passes the truck and I follow him. 2nd in VTEC up to about 105, with my freaking passenger going crazy pinching my arm, didn't gain or lose any ground.

He had a passenger too and looked stock, first time I've gotten to race against another s2. Had fun.

*edit * Cliffs notes: modded s2 top down tied stock s2 top up, both were +1

damn, has anyone proved these damn mods work? i think a healthy stock s could edge out some I/E ones. of course not every time, but just because you have an intake and exhaust doesnt guarantee you a win, im kind of afraid to race a stock s, because if i lose i might end up selling my damn mods.

If I come across ANY other S2000 on the road, modded or stock, I am more concerned with trying to get the driver's attention and make a friendly gesture towards them versus trying to race them.

With your 18" rims I wouldn't be surprised if a stock s2k did pull you. When I was stock I pulled another modded AP1 by 2 cars on 2nd and 3rd gear rolls. He had an AEM v2 intake, Invidia exhaust, OBX header, and 18 inch rims. He was a little disgruntled to say the least. This was a friend and we raced multiple times.

these wheels are pretty light. i wouldnt exactly put all the blame on them IF i lost to a stocker. sometimes it just seems that all S' arent created equal, and a factory freak is better than aftermarket bolt ons, i dont have any hard evidence on this, just a thought.

I didn't mean to sound like I was dogging you for your 18" rims. I am sure they look great and are relatively light, but they will hinder acceleration quite a bit on a car with as little torque as we have.

Helps with the torque off the line, just like the priuses.
